Friday, November 30

  • Arrival 11:00am-4:00 pm Sanlan RV and Golf Resort- 3929 U.S. 98 South, Lakeland, Florida (If possible arrive on the early side as they are going to be having a large, 100 coach, rally arriving in the mid-afternoon)
  • 4:30-5:30pm Happy Hour at the Poolside Rec Hall behind the main office. Bring your own beverages and light snacks if you choose. Sign up for Christmas Potluck Dinner (bring your favorite Christmas recipe!). Receive parts for Mystery Murder Mingle. 
  • 5:30 Depart for Catfish Country- 2400 E. Griffin Road, Bartow, FL
  • Gather in Poolside Rec Hall for cards and socializing

Saturday, December 1

  • Breakfast on your own, or right at campground there is a food truck offering breakfast and lunch: Hubbard Family Kitchen- across from the playground
  • 10:00-11:310 pm Florida Discovery Sunshiners Meeting- Poolside Rec Hall-Installation of new officers. Follow up DOAI January Rally.
  • Lunch on own or at Hubbard Family Kitchen food truck.
  • 1:00pm depart for Bok Tower- 1151 Tower Blvd. Lake Wales, Fl.  $26 pp for house, gardens and symphony.  Box dinner:  BRING FOLDING CHAIRS
  • 2:00-3:00pm Tour of Pinewood Estates Christmas House
  • 3:00-4:00pmTour Christmas Gardens
  • 5:00-6:00pm happy hour-location in front of the tower on lawn- bring your chairs.  Box lunch/dinner will be served.
  • 6:00pm Bok Tower Christmas Sunset Symphony Holiday Music Festival-Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sunday, December 2

  • Breakfast/Lunch on your own, or at food truck
  • 1:00- Ladies craft option: Christmas Sun Catcher/ornament made of Swarovski Crystals $15-rec hall; Gentlemen option: Gun Range- Shoot Straight Lakeland 230 N Lake Parker Ave., Lakeland
  • 4:00pm Happy Hour and Christmas Gift exchange- Poolside Rec Hall
  • 6:00pm Pot Luck Christmas Dinner and Christmas Murder Mystery Mingle-Poolside Rec Hall.  This does not require costumes, dress festively for a Christmas Party. Each of your characters will have their own unique personality!  Ham it up!

Monday, December 3

  • Breakfast on your own
  • 9:00am depart for Florida Polytechnic University- 4700 Research Way, Lakeland, FL. Newest of the 12 institutions in the State University System of Florida, known as the University of Innovation.  Mission is to prepare 21st century learners in advanced fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. No charge.
  • 12:00 pm Lunch at Poolside Rec Room from Elena’s Cuban Café.
  • 1:00 pm Midweek Flamingo Meeting: Installation of new officers
  • 5:00- 6:00 pm Happy Hour at the Poolside Rec Center- bring your own beverages and snacks if desired.
  • 6:00pm depart for Publix Aprons Cooking School- Lake Miriam Square, 473 S. Florida Ave. Lakeland
  • 6:30-7:30 pm Publix Apron Demonstration Class- Learn to cook the perfect steak. Discussion of different cuts of beef and the ways to cook them.  Includes two courses with beverage pairing. Yum! $25 pp
  • 7:30 pm leave for DQ Ice Cream desert Yum Yum!- 4114 Florida Avenue S, Lakeland

Tuesday, December 4th

  • Breakfast on your own
  • 9:00 am Depart for Circle B Bar Reserve-4399 Winter Lake Road, Lakeland, Fl.
  • 9:30-11:30am Tram Tour of Circle B Bar Reserve- at one time cattle and cowboys roamed Circle B Ranch as a functioning cattle ranch.  Recognized by USA Today Travel as one of the Great Places to See Wildlife. Bring binoculars if you like. No charge
  • 11:45 am Lunch- Gator’s Dockside Highland City- 5147 US. Hwy 98 South, Lakeland, FL.
  • 4:45pm Depart for Winter Haven Public Library-325 Avenue A NW, Winter Haven, FL.
  • 5:30- 6:30pm “Oh, Florida” Lecture Library by Craig Pitman- How America’s Weirdest State Influences the Rest of America. No charge
  • 7:00pm Dinner Manny’s Chop House,- 1100 3rd Street, Winter Haven, FL.
